First up - Damien Becker and friends present 'Thin Reed Throat': a poetry collection that moves effortlessly between laugh-out-loud funny and tear-evoking. Damien is joined by DJ Zaziz, Sonia Caeiro and more for collaborations and conversations inspired by the book. Exploring life with cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation, 'Thin Reed Throat' won the 2024 Flying Islands Manuscript Prize.
After the break - it's the Poetry Slam! Just 2 minutes for YOUR voice on our open mic, with big love from the audience as we cheer you on. Got a rhyme, a rap, a story, a song? We want to hear it! As a special invitation to share your words in 2026, this is a score free slam - no judges, all heart!
Poets Out Loud is hosted by Sarah Temporal and supported by the newly re-opened Regent Theatre.
