Calendar Girls Auditions (SOLD OUT)
About
Calendar Girls (the play) is based on the Miramax Picture by Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth, a 2003 British comedy film directed by Nigel Cole. Produced by Harbour Pictures, it is based on a true story of a group of middle-aged Yorkshire women who produced a nude calendar to raise money for Leukaemia Research under the auspices of the Women's Institutes in April 1999. It is inspired by the death of Angela Baker's husband who died from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of blood cancer at the age of 54 in 1998.Calendar Girls is a charming and sincere play about friendship and loyalty, with a mix of British wit and emotional depth making it an uplifting experience. It celebrates ordinary women doing something extraordinary - with plenty of laughs along the way.
