Intersection of Children & Family Court Panel & Discussion
About
Exploring the intersection between Child Protection/Children’s Court and Family Court. This professional development event will explore the intersection between the Child Protection/Children’s Court and the Family Court, with a focus on how improved understanding and information-sharing across jurisdictions can better support children and families in the Northern Rivers region.
The session will bring together key voices from across the system, including representatives from the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), Magistrate Ford, and Senior Judicial Registrar Flintoff, who will provide expert insights into the practical, legal, and systemic considerations that arise when matters cross between child protection and family law jurisdictions.
Through presentations and a panel discussion with interactive Q&A, attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how these systems operate in parallel, where challenges commonly emerge, and how collaboration and shared knowledge can contribute to more informed practice and improved outcomes for families.
Lunch will be provided, and the event will also offer opportunities for professional networking and connection.
