“A Night to Shine” - the Hubbard's School 2026 Senior Formal will take place on Thursday the 1^st of October 2026, from 5:30–10:00pm at the stunning Rydges Southbank Hotel. 

Our senior students are invited to come and shine enjoying an unforgettable evening of fun, friends and great food. Open to 1st and 2nd year senior students, the formal will be held in a premier event room overlooking the glittering Brisbane skyline.

A professional photographer has been engaged to capture the magic of the evening starting with the arrivals in grand entrance foyer and then all of the formal fun that follows as night falls revealing the spectacular Brisbane city skyline.

The DJ will provide the soundtrack for the night using the student’s song requests adding to the fun of dancing the night away. And for when it is time for a break there are some chill out spaces for the students including an outdoor balcony to grab some fresh air and enjoy the twinkling city lights. 

Our seniors will enjoy a delicious chef prepared three course meal and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. This is a strictly alcohol and drug-free event, with professional security present to ensure a safe, enjoyable night for everyone. 

Dress code is formal so dress to impress – it is your “Night to Shine” and get ready for a fun night of music, dancing, and creating memories.

Who can attend – All 1st and 2nd year Senior Hubbards students. Plus 1’s (of similar age) are also welcome.

Ticket Sales - Cost per ticket is $159.00

Hubbard's student tickets - On sale now until the 30th of March.

Plus One tickets - can be purchased at the same time as the student ticket or separately before July 31st.

The organisers appreciate that it may seem very early for ticket sales however it is imperative that we have the majority of student tickets purchased to ensure the payment deadlines can be met with the venue and the event can go ahead as intended. (This is the only source of funding for the event).

Last minuters - Naturally, it is our intention for this event to be as inclusive as possible, and we appreciate there will always be some that have a late change of heart. If the ticket sales are closed when this occurs please email the organisers - hubbardsformal@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate any request. 

Event Start Time – Arrivals in the foyer from 5.30-6pm and then the students can progress to the pre reception area on level 12 from 6-6.30pm. The function room will be open at 6.30 the students to take their seat for meal service to begin.

Event Finish Time – 10pm sharp – please make arrangements for your student to be collected from the venue.

Security – Rydges will have security personnel onsite to ensure the safe and orderly running of the event.

Catering – a set 3 course menu will be served with provisions for students with special dietary requirements.

Photography – A professional photographer will be at the event to capture the evening. A link will be supplied to the students of the photos of the evening.

Refunds - There will be no refunds issued after the 30th of June 2026. Please email the organisers should your student not be attending after a ticket has been purchased - we are happy to investigate the possibility of a refund on a case-by-case basis but the organisers can make no guarantee.

Security Staff - will be conducting checks at the door to ensure that the event is alcohol and drug free. They have also advised that students are not to leave the formal to purchase or consume alcohol and then return. Please be advised that if your student chooses to leave the formal function early, they will not be able to regain access to the event.

To ensure a positive, respectful, and inclusive experience for everyone attending the Hubbards School Formal, the following guidelines have been established regarding the use of phones, cameras, and social media.
Personal Photography & Filming
• Attendees are welcome to use their phones or personal cameras to take photos and videos during the event.
• Please be mindful of those around you and avoid taking photos or videos that may cause discomfort or invade someone’s personal space.
• Flash photography may be distracting or disruptive - use with consideration.
Respecting the Privacy of Others
• Not all attendees may feel comfortable being photographed or filmed.
• Always ask for consent before taking a photo or video of someone else, especially in candid or group settings.
• Do not photograph or record individuals who have clearly expressed they do not wish to be included.
Social Media
If you plan to share photos or videos from the event on social media platforms.
• You must seek permission from all individuals featured in the content before posting.
• Do not tag or identify people without their consent.
• Avoid posting any content that could be embarrassing, inappropriate, or damaging to others.
Consent & Responsible Posting
By attending the formal, you agree to:
• Use your phone and camera responsibly and respectfully.
• Ask for permission before posting images or videos of other attendees.
• Remove any content upon request from a fellow student, staff member, or the Formal Committee.


Hubbards School Formal 2026 Student Agreement
Drug & Alcohol-Free Event
The Hubbards School Formal is a strictly drug and alcohol-free event. The use of alcohol, drugs, vapes, or cigarettes is not permitted within the formal function area including the Alabaster Room and terrace whilst the function is in operation from 5.45pm until 10pm. This policy applies to all attendees, including students and guests. Any breach of these rules may result in immediate removal from the event at the discretion of the security personnel.
Please be aware of the Rydges Southbank smoking rules:
• Smoking (including e cigarettes/vaping) is prohibited within 4 metres of any building under Queensland law and the venue’s house rules.
• Smoking is not allowed in outdoor areas used for eating or drinking, including courtyards, terraces, beer gardens, etc.
• Offenders may face $165 on the spot fines for smoking in no smoking zones.

By attending the formal, you agree to:
• abide by the policy set out above regarding the Hubbards School Formal 20256 being a strictly drug and alcohol-free event.
• conduct myself in a respectful, responsible, and inclusive manner throughout the evening. This includes treating all attendees, staff, and venue property with care and courtesy. I understand that inappropriate, disruptive, or disrespectful behaviour may result in immediate removal from the event.
