Habitat for Humanity Vic Bushfire Recovery
About
At Habitat for Humanity Victoria, our mission is to build homes, communities and hope. While we are known for building affordable housing, disaster recovery is a vital part of our work responding when communities face their greatest challenges. This bushfire recovery effort embodies exactly that, building community and providing hope when it's needed most.We have connected with local community Murrindindi Shire leaders, asking what their greatest need in this present time is. Through consultation, leaders have identified fencing as an urgent issue and possible avenue for Habitat for Humanity to support the community.
We're mobilising volunteers to work alongside local community leaders and our program supervisor, going farm by farm to clear debris and repair and build fencing for livestock. This is hands-on, community-driven recovery work that will make a tangible difference to in helping families return home.
