Classical guitarists of all ages and abilities are invited to join us at the UWA Conservatorium of Music for a day dedicated to all things guitar.

Throughout the day, participants will take part in workshops, demonstrations, and guitar orchestras, led by some of Western Australia’s most inspiring performers and educators. Whether you are just beginning your guitar journey or are an experienced player, you’ll have the opportunity to explore new repertoire, develop your technique, and gain valuable insights into the art of practice and performance.

For our youngest guitarists, the Primary Guitar Workshop, led by renowned educator Keith Perry, offers a fun and supportive introduction to the excitement of ensemble playing. Designed especially for primary school students in their first two years of classical guitar, the workshop features music carefully arranged so every student can feel comfortable and confident playing their part. It’s a wonderful opportunity to  build confidence, meet fellow young guitarists, and feel part of the wider classical guitar community.

The day will conclude with a relaxed and informal concert, giving all participants the opportunity to perform together. With no expectation of perfection, it’s a chance to celebrate the day, enjoy making music together, and leave inspired to continue their guitar journey.
