Understanding Domestic and Family Violence & Coercive Control in Family Law and Community Settings.This interactive workshop, delivered by the Small Steps for Hannah Foundation, provides professionals with practical insights and tools to better understand and respond to domestic and family violence (DFV), including coercive control, within family and professional contexts.
Unpacking the drivers and behaviours of DFV and coercive control
Outline of Workshop:
• Understanding DFV and coercive control in a family context and how it presents in professional spaces
• Responding effectively to survivors and to people using violence
• Guiding young people towards respect
• Reflection and workshop close
Participants will gain greater confidence, shared language and practical tools to support victim-survivors, respond appropriately to people using violence, and engage in challenging but necessary conversations with care and professionalism.

This workshop discusses domestic and family violence and coercive control. It includes the sharing of Hannah Clarke’s story by the Small Steps for Hannah Foundation. Some content may be distressing. Participants are encouraged to take care of their wellbeing and step out if needed.
