True Strength Counselling is committed to running public ASIST workshops alongside our private and corporate workshops to ensure access in the community.
We are planning upcoming ASIST workshops for July and August 2026 and are inviting expressions of interest to help shape dates, locations, and delivery format.
Registering your interest is non-binding and helps ensure workshops are scheduled where they’re most useful.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an evidence-based suicide intervention workshop developed by LivingWorks. It has been delivered globally for over 30 years and is supported by extensive research.
It’s a two-day, interactive training program that teaches participants how to:
* Recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide
* Provide a safe and open space for them to talk about what they’re experiencing
* Work together to create a safety plan that supports their immediate needs and connects them to further help
ASIST is designed for everyone who is passionate about creating communities safer from suicide— not just health professionals.
By the end of the workshop, participants leave with greater confidence in applying verbal suicide first aid, powerful, practical skills, and hope — knowing they can make a difference in creating suicide-safer communities.
Cost: $440 per person
