Join Steamrail as we head to Bendigo for a day at the Bendigo Easter Festival behind steam locomotive R711 and heritage heritage diesel locomotives.

There is much to see and do for the whole family at the Bendigo Easter Festival. Watch the Gala Parade, be entertained by roving street performers, visit the Rotary Art and Craft market or art gallery, be enthralled by the Goldfields library story telling tree, have fun at the Central Carnival on the rides, ride the vintage tram, wander around and admire the grandeur of the ‘gold era’ buildings or have a quiet lunch at one of the many fine hotels and cafes.

The Bendigo Easter Festival will culminate when thousands of people line the streets to watch the gorgeous display of colour in the Gala Parade. Experience the excitement as Bendigo’s newest Dragon Dai Gum Loong (the world’s longest Imperial Dragon!), weaves his way through the historic streetscapes of Bendigo.  

For those looking for more railway action, your Steamrail Ticket will provide a 50% discount to entry at the Bendigo Model Railroaders' Easter Convention. This can be reached by a short bus ride (PTV) and walk from the station.

Sit back in your comfortable compartment and enjoy the scenery as our classic steam locomotive powers through the line's historic tunnels and viaducts. On arrival at Bendigo there is 5 hours to explore and take part in the festival. After a full day out, relax in your comfortable 1920s or 1940s carriage with a snack, or some light refreshments as we take you home to Melbourne.

PREMIUM COMPARTMENT
Upgrade to one of our Premium Private Compartments! Travel in style in one of our 1920's Sleeping Carriages, air-conditioned for your comfort and including a complimentary drink on either leg of your journey.
With the compartment in day configuration, it will comfortably seat 1 - 3 passengers for a more intimate heritage train travel experience.

FIRST CLASS 
Go first class! Relax in your comfortable air conditioned and heated 1930s-vintage 'S Type' Carriage compartment. All seating is reserved.

EXCURSION CLASS
Experience our 'E Type' Carriages dating back to 1906 with beautiful timber work and pressed-tin ceilings, walk-through corridors and comfortable compartment-style seating. Featuring 'old-school air-con', with the windows wide open to listen to the engine working hard up the hills. All seating is reserved.

PRIVATE CARRIAGE HIRE
We can provide private carriage hire for groups of up to 88 passengers. We have a range of carriages to choose from including compartment, saloon (open), club cars, sleeping cars and vans.

ON-TRAIN SERVICES
Our on-train facilities include Club Car 'Moorabool', with a kiosk which stocks a wide range of light refreshments, snacks, and hot and cold drinks. A licensed bar will also be operating, serving a range of beers, wines and spirits. A range of souvenirs will also be available for purchase from our onboard store.

Fire Restrictions can be applied across most areas of Victoria by CFA when the fire danger is high. Typically this is over the summer period of November through to April. Restrictions are applied in small areas at a time.

If restrictions are applied due to high fire danger, the train may be hauled by one of Steamrail's heritage diesel locomotives.
