About
This practical workshop is designed to support foster and kinship carers to better understand the NDIS and how it applies to children and young people in their care.The session will be presented by Kate Bougoure, Disability Practice Leader from the Department of Children and Families, Clinical Practice and Professional Services, and will provide clear practical information carers can use.
What you can expect to learn:
How the NDIS supports children and young people
Eligibility pathways and common access challenges
The role of foster and kinship carers in NDIS planning and reviews
How the Department of Children and Families provides clinical and practice support
Practical tips for navigating the system and advocating for support
This workshop is suitable for carers supporting children with disability, developmental delay, or additional support needs, as well as carers who are new to the NDIS process. The session will include time for questions and shared discussion.
