Bass Coast Shire Council invites the community to a unique and informative Beach Safety event at Cape Woolamai SLSC.Featuring Australia’s renowned surf scientist, Dr Rob Brander - known as ‘Dr Rip’ for his unique method of demonstrating rip currents with a purple dye release.
Dr Brander will share his expertise on how beaches work, how to identify dangerous rip currents, and most importantly, how to get out of them.
A panel discussion will follow, featuring Dr Harpreet Singh, leader of Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Officer temple and driving force behind the launch of water safety program, Safely Engaging with Water & special guests from the local surfing community.
