A Network for Trusted Trade
About
Date: 25 February 2026Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm, followed by a networking reception
Location: ASPI Auditorium, Ground Floor, 40 Macquarie Street, Barton
In a world of rising geopolitical competition, contested supply chains, fragmented regulation and AI-mediated decision-making, trust has become a strategic asset. Join ASPI on Wednesday 25 February for a fireside conversation with Evan Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Altana, examining how trust can be operationalised across trade, defence supply chains and critical technologies.
The discussion will focus on a central shift now underway: moving beyond fragmented compliance regimes and vendor-by-vendor checks towards a global trade system that is built on trusted value chains. As ASPI’s research has shown, trust is increasingly shaped by hidden dependencies, cumulative exposure and indirect influence — not just by who a government chooses to exclude.
Drawing on ASPI’s public-interest research and Altana’s experience uniting businesses, supply chain partners, and governments around a single, trusted source of product information, the conversation will explore how governments and industry can create a world where global trade is trusted, secure and resilient.
Please note that the fireside discussion will be followed by a networking reception with refreshments provided.
