Join us for a relaxed community Plant Swap at the Royal Botanic Gardens on Saturday the 1st of March. This event is designed to make swapping plants easy, fair, and welcoming, whether you’re a seasoned plant person or brand new to swapping.

How the Plant Swap Works:
1. Bring plants to swap
Bring along healthy plants, cuttings, seedlings, bulbs, or divisions. Please make sure everything is pest-free and well cared for.
2. Label your plants
Labels are encouraged and can include the plant name, light needs, and any care tips, this helps everyone swap with confidence.
3. Swap like-for-like
You’ll be able to swap plant-for-plant. The aim is to keep things fair and generous rather than transactional.
4. Browse and swap
Lay out your plants, have a wander, chat with other plant lovers, and swap directly with others, no tokens or money involved.
5. Take something new home
Leave with new plants, new knowledge, and hopefully a few new plant friends too.
What if I don’t have anything to swap?
You’re still very welcome to come along. You can:
• Attend to learn, observe, and connect with the community
• Ask questions and chat with growers and horticulturalists
• Pick up tips and inspiration for future swaps

Why is there a $5 ticket?
The $5 ticket helps cover the costs of running the event and ensures we can keep hosting accessible, community-focused plant swaps into the future. This includes materials, and the behind-the-scenes work that makes these gatherings possible. Keeping the ticket low allows the event to remain inclusive while supporting its ongoing sustainability.
