International Women's Day 2026 (SOLD OUT)
Join ECU to mark International Women's Day, featuring keynote speaker Pearl Proud.International Women’s Day is held annually in March. This year's official UN theme, Balance the Scales, calls attention to the urgent need for fairness, safety and access to justice for every woman and girl.
In recognition of this occasion, keynote speaker Pearl Proud, will share insights from her personal justice journey, reflections on the current socio-economic political climate, and the ongoing imperative of the Gender Equality mandate. She will also unpack the dynamics of diversity and privilege and explore safe leadership through the lens of self-examination. Following the keynote, Pearl will join the Vice-Chancellor in a moderated conversation informed by the Balance the Scales theme, sharing insights on leadership, responsibility and advancing fairness for women and girls.
About our speaker
Pearl Proud is an ECU alumna, Traditional Healer, Pyschologist, Executive Consultant and member of Edith Cowan University Council. She is a respected advocate for equity, leadership and creating safe, inclusive spaces, with a career spanning psychology, governance and community leadership. Pearl's life-purpose is to bring healing to every person she is with and every space she is in.
This event will be hosted by Professor Clare Pollock, ECU Vice-Chancellor.A vote of thanks will be delivered by ECU's Women in Business and Leadership Association.The event is open to the public and registrations are essential. As seats are limited, we encourage early registration to secure your place.
