A Walking Tour of the early stucco, arches and curlicue architecture of the South Western suburbs of Glandore.
From the 1920s onwards, South Australians were regularly exposed to the California lifestyle via films and lifestyle magazines. A home in the Spanish Mission style was highly aspirational in rapidly expanding suburbs such as Glandore. Join the Art Deco and Modernism Society of Australia for a half hour introduction to the features of Spanish Mission Style followed by a walk around the suburb to look at some interesting examples.
