Weaving with Lillefield Gallery
About
Discover the art of weaving in this hands-on introductory workshop designed for curious beginners and creative explorers.Using yarn, fabric scraps, natural fibres and mixed materials, artists from Lillefield Gallery, Eden Valley will help you create a unique textile artwork while learning how pattern and texture can express personality, stories and visual ideas.
With a strong focus on experimentation and the joy of making by hand, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment to build skills and confidence. It’s the perfect starting point for anyone keen to explore weaving. If you are a collector of 'things' and have some interesting yarn, ribbon, beads or buttons you would like to use in your weaving - please bring them along to help your inspiration.
We encouraged you to think outside the loom by working with upcycled objects as your base - from bicycle wheels and old tennis racquets to preloved hula hoops or maybe even a vintage colander.
All participants in this workshop will be encouraged to continue working on a piece for display in our 'Woven Together' Community Exhibition at the Nuriootpa Library in August for SALA 2026.
Additional opportunities to attend FREE workshops to complete your art will be provided through June and July.
