Welcome to WORKSHOPS at the Montville Timber Trail! A celebration of timber and the role it plays in your history and our future. The Montville Timber Trail is an all-ages, two day event set amid the backdrop of the iconic Montville village on the Blackall Range just 1.5 hrs north of Brisbane. Bringing together makers, artisans, teachers, and sustainably sourced materials from across the country.

Join me (Kellie May Mannix ) on SUNDAY 3rd May 2026 for my pyrography workshop at Montville Village Hall.

During this exclusive, artist-lead workshop you will learn the foundations of wood burning while creating your own *camphor laurel serving board* featuring an original design by Kellie May Mannix.

All designs have been created to allow complete beginners to succeed, while still giving confident participants the opportunity to add their own personalisation and details.

# Workshop Schedule
**Introduction & Safety (15 minutes)**
• Welcome and introduction
• Pyrography safety guidelines
• Tool handling and temperature awareness
• Overview of design concepts
• Participants choose their design

**Design Transfer & Practice (30 minutes)**
• Transferring your design onto the board
• Practicing basic strokes on scrap wood
• Learning line control and shading basics

**Burning Your Design (2 hour burn time)**
• Burning the main outlines of the design
• Developing line weight and texture
• Optional additional details for confident burners
• Individual guidance throughout the process

**Finishing Your Board (15 minutes)**
• Final shading and touch-ups
• Demonstration of board finishing
• Application of food-safe wax
• Care instructions for your board

Minimum age is 18 years old
Please wear closed in shoes and tie back long hair
Date: Sunday 3 May 2026
Time: 9am to 12pm (3 hour workshop)
Venue: Montville Village Hall (Memorial Close, Montville 4560)

Booking Terms: Your booking is final and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend the workshop you can contact us as we may have a waiting list for the workshop where we can transfer your booking to someone else and then offer you a refund less the booking fees. Or you may transfer your booking to someone else but you must notify us and provide us with the new contact details.
