Steps for Second Chances is a community driven event created to bridge the gap between young Australians aged 18 – 35 and the world of organ and stem cell donation. Held at Sydney Olympic Park’s Athletics precinct, the event brings awareness out of the abstract and into lived experience, showing just how real, accessible, and life changing donation can be.

Founded by siblings born with a rare genetic autoimmune condition, both of whom were cured through bone marrow transplants, Steps for Second Chances exists because waiting once defined their lives. What began as uncertainty became survival and now, purpose. The event transforms awareness into action, inviting people to register as donors on site and offer others the chance they were once waiting for.

Steps for Second Chances isn’t about how far you walk. It’s about who you walk for, and what you choose to do next. Be someone’s match. Be someone’s miracle. Be someone’s second chance.
