Online iNaturalist training (Gardens for Wildlife Melbourne)
About
Join us for an online introductory session to using iNaturalist - a free data collection platform to help you record and share your nature observations.Hear from ecologist, entomologist and science communicator Dr Luis Mata who will take you through what iNaturalist is, how to use the platform, and tips for making high-quality observations with a focus on insects.
We're running this event in the lead up to City of Melbourne's Insect Bioblitz, running from Sunday 1 March to Saturday 7 March 2026 - get up close and personal with nature and record your insect observations on iNaturalist to help us learn about the local critters that call Melbourne home.
This free online event is run as part of the Gardens for Wildlife Melbourne Speaker Series - an opportunity for our network of habitat gardeners, to learn and collaborate through a series of online sessions focused on habitat gardening and caring for wildlife in backyards.
