Join us for a special evening with Lonnie Lee, one of Australia’s original Rock’n’Roll pioneers. A star of Sydney’s earliest rock scene, Lonnie helped spark the teen‑dance explosion of the late 1950s, performing alongside icons like Johnny O’Keefe and Col Joye.Now 85 and celebrating nearly 70 years since his first shows, Lonnie comes to the library to share stories from his remarkable life and his newly released autobiographical series, Almost a Star and Starlight Starbright both earning glowing reviews.
Enjoy memories, music and conversation as Lonnie recounts his rise from Bankstown to national stardom, offers acoustic snippets of his classic hits, answers audience questions and signs copies of his books.
