The Koalas - a movie about survival
About
THE KOALAS reveals a disturbing truth: the very institutions meant to protect our natural treasures are contributing to the decline of these iconic animals. The film follows the lives of charismatic koalas—Wonnie, Bexley, Tom, Baz, and joeys Hope and Pala—offering an intimate look at their individual personalities, their bonds with their young, and the dedication of wildlife carers. Together, these seven koalas become powerful ambassadors for all koalas facing the growing threats to their survival. "The fate of the koalas is tied very much up with ours. And here's a magnificent movie which charts the life of koalas, even as the human threat to them grows." Bob Brown. The Koalas has screened over 200 times around Australia and is finally coming to Bundeena. The film will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers Gregory Miller and Dr Georgia Wallace-Crabbe, with local environmentalist Dr Catherine Reynolds, with new information on koalas in the Royal National Park, on the impact of recent fires and on-going issues following Australian wildlife.Location
