About
This presentation will discuss how children develop play skills, how play relates to speech and language development and the importance of play in developing your child’s language, emotion and social skills. We will also talk about practical ways to engage children in play with a range of toys.About the presenter:
Tamara is an experienced Speech Pathologist with over 22 years of practice working with children across early childhood and education, community and private practice settings. She has worked within diverse health and education systems in Australia and the United Kingdom, including managing an Early childhood service, supervising teams of therapists and working for the NDIS. Tamara has always enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with others and has delivered training to other professionals and parents/carers across a range of topics including social skills, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and play skills. Tamara is currently volunteering at the Port Melbourne Toy library to share her knowledge and experience with parents/carers in selecting appropriate toys and games to suit their child and family’s needs.

This session is being run with grant money provided by the City of Port Phillip Council and is free to join.
