6th Melbourne Joey Beach Camp 2026
About
Our first camp for 2026 will be at the Eumerella Scout Camp in Anglesea, VIC. This will be a Beach-themed camp but include a host of non-water activities too. We will be sleeping in cabins with bunk beds.DATES: 5pm Friday 13 March 2026 through 3pm Sunday 15th March 2026.
We will meet from 5pm at the Scout Hall on Friday 13th March 2026 for 6pm departure. A light dinner will be provided before departure, and a small supper when we arrive at the campsite. We will return to the Scout Hall at approximately 3pm on Sunday 15th March 2026. There will be an independent traveller Saturday day trip option (not staying overnight) as well as an independent traveller single overnight stay option (Saturday AM through Sunday PM).
We will car pool there and back which means we will need volunteers to drive down on Friday night and bring us back on Sunday. We will request 4-6 Adult Supporters to stay with us for the duration of the camp to assist with everything from kitchen and meal prep to taxiing us between activities to assisting with bed times to general activity support. Some of you may wish to stay down at Anglesea for the weekend independently of the camp - have your own little holiday nearby.
If you are not yet an Adult Supporter, this is a great opportunity to contribute! "How do I sign up?!?!?" you ask? Reach out to me: there are 2 hours of online modules to complete, a Working With Children's Check, a Police Check and a Referee check. Only Adult Supporter's can stay overnight on camps, and note that you'll also need to be a registered Adult Supporter to assist regularly with youth during our normal program e.g. hall activities.
Overnight campers: $80 (Friday+Saturday nights, or Saturday night only)
Day tripper: $50 (Saturday only)
Logistics, packing lists, social stories will be available during the first few weeks of term.
Please talk to the leaders if there are any obstacles to your Joey attending - bedwetting, anxiety, financial, etc etc - we want to be as inclusive and accommodating as possible to ensure your Joey gets the opportunity to attend an awesome camp.
