Responding to High-Risk Behaviours
About
When behaviour escalates quickly or feels unsafe, carers are often left managing high-pressure situations with limited support in the moment. This three-hour workshop is designed specifically for Volunteer Foster and Kinship Carers and is delivered by Build Up NT, an experienced Northern Territory–based provider specialising in behaviour support.
The session focuses on responding to high-risk behaviours safely and confidently. Carers will learn about the aggression cycle, early warning signs, and practical de-escalation and redirection strategies to help reduce risk and keep everyone safe during crisis situations.
The training is practical, respectful, and grounded in real-life caring contexts. It also supports carers to understand the limits of their role and recognise when more intensive or specialised support is needed.
This workshop is free for Volunteer Foster and Kinship Carers.
