A remarkable evening of jazz, world classical music, and spontaneous improvisation, featuring three of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary musicians: James Greening, Gary Daley, and Lloyd Swanton. Their combined expertise created a captivating blend of genres, offering the audience a rich, immersive musical experience.

James Greening, a veteran of Australia’s jazz scene for over 30 years, showcased his versatile talent with a variety of instruments, from trombone to tuba. Known for his involvement in iconic bands like The Catholics and The Australian Art Orchestra, Greening brought his signature wit and exuberance to the stage, captivating the crowd with both his skill and energy.

Joining him was Gary Daley, a renowned pianist and accordionist celebrated for his work with Bungarribee and The Catholics. His dynamic compositions have graced major venues and festivals across Australia. Daley’s ability to merge classical influences with jazz was evident throughout the night, enriching the performance with depth and complexity.

Completing the trio was Lloyd Swanton, a distinguished bassist and co-founder of the internationally acclaimed group The Necks. Swanton’s mastery of improvisation, honed over decades, added a profound and imaginative layer to the performance, leaving the audience in awe.
