Speaker - David HoxleyDiamonds: on the inside
An insider's look at diamonds-how to make these extreme materials, and their wide applications from biosensors to quantum computers. We will also consider the implications for yacht racing, from quantum weather predictions through high-strength composite nanomaterials to advanced antifoul surface coatings.
Bio
RMYS Member Dr David Hoxley, is a physicist who has been researching and developing applications for diamonds as an electronic material for 25 years. His current research focuses on building quantum computers using diamond N-V centres. He is a Senior Lecturer at La Trobe University.
