Workshop 1: Printmaking & Mark-making
About
** VENUE CHANGE - 11 Wellington Road, Woorree**Create Your Own Art Papers for Collage & Print
This hands-on workshop invites you to explore playful, intuitive printmaking and mark-making techniques to create a unique collection of handmade papers. These papers can be used as standalone artworks or as collage material for future mixed-media work.
Participants will experiment with a variety of simple, accessible methods, including:
Monoprinting techniques
Using lino cuts to create repeatable and expressive prints
Foam stamps and handmade printing tools
Gel plate printing
Painting directly onto tissue paper
Mark making with found and everyday objects
The focus is on exploration, layering, and embracing happy accidents rather than precision or perfection. No prior printmaking experience is required.
About the approach:
My own art practice is grounded in process, texture, and the quiet language of marks. I work intuitively, building layers over time and allowing materials to guide the outcome. In this workshop, I share the same exploratory approach I use in my studio — encouraging curiosity, play, and trust in the process rather than working toward a fixed result.
This workshop can be enjoyed as a standalone creative session or as a springboard into the second workshop.
Participants will leave with a rich collection of original printed and painted papers to use in their own creative practice.
All materials are provided - just bring your best self, ready to let loose and have fun.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please email to let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
