About
** VENUE CHANGE - 11 Wellington Road, Woorree**From Mark Making to a Finished Artwork
In this immersive mixed-media workshop, participants will create a completed still life artwork using a layered, expressive approach. The session combines mark making, collage, and painting to build depth, texture, and meaning.
Materials and techniques will include:
Handmade and printed collage papers (including monoprints and lino prints)
Acrylic paint and acrylic ink
Paint pens
Oil pastels and chalk pastels
Pencils and charcoal.
Expressive mark making and layering techniques
Participants who attended the first workshop are encouraged to use the papers they created themselves. Those who did not attend will be provided with a curated selection of handmade papers prepared by the facilitator.
About the approach:
My mixed media work often sits between abstraction and representation, using still life as a starting point rather than a strict subject. Iām drawn to layers, quiet narratives, and the balance between structure and freedom. In this workshop, I guide participants through my own method of developing a piece ā from initial marks and collage through to resolving a finished artwork ā while encouraging individual interpretation and personal expression.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Participants will leave with a finished artwork and a deeper understanding of how to bring multiple materials together cohesively.
All materials are provided - just bring your best self, ready to let loose and have fun.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please email to let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
