"The Depiction of Form" - with Sophie Dunlop

Let's go back to basics and think about form. This is one of the fundamental lessons of the Great Master, Cezanne who said:"Everything in nature takes its form from the sphere, the cone and the cylinder. One must learn to paint these simple figures and then one can do all that one may wish".
In this 4 week course, we will learn how to draw these basic forms. We will also look at paintings by other artists and see how form is depicted in different genres such as portraiture, landscape and still life. Sophie will set up a still life for the class to work from together, or students can bring their own images and apply this important concept. We will use charcoal and then pastels to do our drawings. The first lesson, Sophie will supply all paper and charcoal and discuss materials then.
$120 for 4 weeks. Must be paid in full to commence classes.
