Navigating antizionism at University: Parents and students
About
Join Dr Naya Lekht for a live online session for Australian university students and their parents before O week commences exploring how Jew-hatred has evolved over time: from anti-Judaism, to antisemitism, to today’s language of antizionism and how these patterns appear in modern university environments.Drawing on historical case studies and contemporary campus examples, Dr Lekht explains how each era reframes Jews, or the Jewish state, as violators of the dominant moral framework of the time. Using clear visual models and real-world university scenarios, she shows how antizionism on campus often operates as a modern structural form of Jew-hatred rather than simply political critique.
Participants will gain practical tools to recognise recurring narratives, understand how they adapt to current moral vocabularies, and respond with greater clarity, confidence, and context. The session begins by addressing issues students are already encountering on Australian campus's followed by guided discussion and live Q&A.
Dr Lekht is a leading Jewish educator and the founder of Stop Antizionism, an educational initiative focused on helping communities understand and address contemporary antizionist ideology.
