Join us for a free event celebrating the launch of the new middle grade childrens book ‘Maddie and the Stolen Treasures' by Tasmanian author David Webby. David will be joined in conversation by Meadh Farnaby from the TasWriters. In his new book David shares his love for ancient Egyptian history and travelling the world while also incorporating important themes like multiculturalism, coping with anxiety and bullying.While on holiday in Egypt, Maddie’s grandfather is wrongly imprisoned after being found with a 3,000-year-old relic of Queen Nefertiti. To save him, Maddie and her newfound friends must outsmart the sinister smuggler Red Scarf. Can Maddie overcome her anxieties before it’s too late?
David, originally born in New Zealand, has lived in various parts of Australia. He currently lives in the beautiful Huon Valley in Tasmania, with his wife, two labradoodles, and a few chooks. He is a man of many talents; juggler, photographer, and bee keeper, to name a few, and loves hiking the wilds of Tasmania.
