Dinner Club: PhD vs Your Life (S1 26)
About
PhD vs Your Life is a relaxed, honest conversation for postgraduate and PhD students about what research life really looks like.
PhD candidates Liouba Le Roux (The Florey Institute) and Eleanor Shao (Social Psychology, University of Melbourne) share candid stories about finding the balance between the burnout, imposter syndrome, and the joys that come with postgraduate study.
Together, they’ll unpack the myths of the “perfect academic”, what supervisors don’t always tell you early on, and how to build a sustainable PhD life without losing yourself in the process.
After the session, attendees are invited to the Ida Bar, Level 1, Building 168 for refreshments.
FREE. Registration required.
Refreshments will be served at a licensed venue but will not include complementary alcohol service. Attendees over the age of 18 may purchase alcohol if they wish to do so. Valid government-issued photo ID is required for alcohol service. UMSU is committed to promoting safe and responsible use and service of alcohol.
