RECORDED LECTURE - THE PLANT HUNTER
This lecture offers up a lavishly illustrated journey looking into the fascinating world of the plant hunter. Plant hunters traveled often to remote and often dangerous locations to 'discover, collect, and introduce new plants for scientific study, commercial trade, and ornamental gardening. Historically, this often involved expeditions to other continents, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries, driven by scientific curiosity, economic motives, and the desire to enrich botanical gardens and private collections". Many of these plants would find their way into botanic gardens. THE LINK TO THIS RECORDED LECTURE WILL BE SENT ON 19 FEBRUARY. The Youtube lecture will be viewable for one week as many times as you like and at anytime.
