DREAMS AS PRAYERFUL PORTALS Facilitated by Patrick Oliver
The dream can be an invaluable way to help us listen to the invitations and movements of the soul. Of course they are not the only means, but they are gifts freely given for us to take to prayer.
A dream can be like a lighthouse, beaconing and beckoning us through those times when perhaps everything else has seemed to turn to night.
Rather than dreams leading us away from the presence of God, I have found that dreams can mirror the great Gospel themes of reconciliation, grace, healing and love.
These two days at Sychar will comprise both input and practical working with dreams. We shall look at how we can become aware of the mood of our dreams, how we can prayerfully reflect upon them, and how they can help us to be converted again and again in our perspectives and choices.
There will be time provided during the sessions for you to share your dreams (if you wish) and to experience listening to others’ dreams. There will be hints on how you can help another person to listen attentively to their dream, and to keep it within a prayerful context.
