Landcare Week Volunteering, Brisbane
About
Step out of the office and get your hands dirty planting native seedlings and removing invasive weeds along the riparian corridor of Oxley Creek at Oxley Creek Common in Rocklea.
Revegetation of urban creeks and low-lying areas is vital to the health of our waterways to reduce pollution and top soil from entering the creeks and rivers during flood events as vegetation reduces erosion and prevents debris from entering the creek.
No experience required, you will be supported by Landcare Supervisors who will provide an introduction to the project, give a safety induction, and demonstrate the tasks.
Lunch is provided, along with all gloves, tools and equipment to undertake the tasks on the day.
This activity requires moderate level of physical activity.
