School Mathematics Competition 2026

The competition has been in existence since 1972. It is wholly organised and run by staff member of the School of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Melbourne. The competition is of a demanding standard, designed to identify real mathematical talent.

墨大中学生数学竞赛SMC，由墨尔本大学数学与统计学院组织和运营的数学竞赛，各大私校公校参与度非常高。与AMC以选择题为主不同，SMC 是2-3小时做6-7题，主要是开放式的题目，特别强调解题过程和证明推理的清晰完整，这也是小学到中学数学学习的关键转折，为将来中数和高数学习打下扎实的知识储备，培养真正的数学思维能力。

Junior Division - Years 7 and 8 or under sit a two-hour exam

Intermediate Division - Years 9 and 10 sit a three-hour exam

Senior Division - Years 11 and 12 sit a three-hour exam

Competition Date: 06/05/2026 Wednesday

Due for registration: 01/05/2026 Friday 7:00 PM

Cost: $20 per student per ticket

Mathsinside Studio

Site 1: Box Hill Community Arts Centre,  9:30 am to 11:30 am /12:30 pm 

Site 2: Doncaster East near EDSC,  1:00 pm to 3:00pm/4:00pm

Mathsinside Studio

MathsInside数学工作室创建于2018年，专注于澳洲大纲、竞赛路径和教育环境下的数学教育。两位创始人Vince Sun和Jessica Zhang 坚持家庭作坊式的小规模、精细化课程，亲自教学，强调数学学习的深入性、系统性和应用性，通过引导和启发学生对数学的深入理解、融会贯通，以及数学思维的训练，来解决数学问题，并形成逻辑严谨、清晰的思维习惯和主动探究、不畏难的学习习惯。8年来，工作室有数百位学生，入选学校数学的拔尖班、拓展班，在高考和各级别竞赛中取得优异成绩；数十位学生进入澳洲奥数集训营，甚至代表澳洲进入国际赛事。
