New to Photoshop? Start here.

This beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop introduces you to the essential tools and techniques needed to confidently edit your images. Timothy will walk you through a simple, practical workflow you can repeat at home, focusing on building strong foundations and understanding why each step matters.

You’ll learn how to:

• Open and organise your image files

• Use Camera Raw to correct exposure and white balance

• Make basic global adjustments to improve tone and colour

• Crop images and straighten horizons

• Apply simple local adjustments to enhance key areas

• Remove small distractions from your photos

• Export sharp, ready-to-share images

Timothy will be using the latest version of Photoshop throughout the session. You’re welcome to follow along using an older version, just be aware that some tools or processes may look a little different. If you haven’t committed to Photoshop yet, please download a trial version shortly before the workshop so you can participate fully.

What you’ll need:

• Your own laptop (required)

• Basic knowledge of how to use a computer

• Photoshop installed

• Camera Raw installed

• Adobe Bridge installed

• Course assets will be shared one week prior to the workshop.  Attendees are required to download these assets before the course

• 08:45 arrival for 09:00 start

• Runs until 15:00

• Morning & afternoon tea included

• Lunch is not included.  Please bring a packed lunch (fridge available)

• Attendees will receive course videos and digital copy of course notes

Perfect for beginners and anyone wanting a refresher, this workshop is the ideal first step into Photoshop and provides a solid foundation before moving on to refined masking and more creative editing in the Intermediate course.
