Cubs are heading underground to explore Britannia Creek Cave for an exciting, hands‑on caving experience!

🕯️ What to Expect

Participants should be prepared for a real cave environment, including:

Total darkness / zero visibility without personal artificial lighting
Narrow passages and tight spaces
Flowing water, muddy, slippery, and dusty sections
Walking and crawling over uneven surfaces
Climbing up and down vertical sections and safely avoiding vertical drops
Loose rock
Spending two hours or more underground in a single cave

Cost: $20 per participant
🎒 What to Bring

Required for Underground

Cotton coveralls (over shorts and a T‑shirt), or loose‑fitting long‑sleeved clothing that fully covers skin
(Caving in only shorts and a T‑shirt is not permitted)

Sturdy boots with good tread
Two independent light sources, including:
One good‑quality head‑torch
New and spare batteries
Gloves (gardening or rigging gloves – optional but highly recommended)
Knee pads (optional)
For the Surface (left at the cave entrance)

Backpack
Drink bottle
Rain jacket
Warm clothing
Dry shoes and socks for the return trip
Plastic bag for muddy clothes and footwear
ℹ️ Important Information

Anything taken into the cave will get dirty and may be damaged, especially clothing
The Caving Team will supply all specialist equipment, including helmets and group first aid kits
Caves are not cold; cotton coveralls over a T‑shirt and shorts are usually comfortable
A head‑torch is essential to keep hands free for climbing
