This webinar will focus on community involvement in research, with a particular emphasis on involvement in evidence synthesis activities. It will cover why involvement matters, when and how people can be involved across the research cycle, and the range of approaches used in practice, illustrated through practical examples and a case study highlighting key challenges and lessons learned.Presented by Dr Louisa Walsh.
Dr Walsh is a physiotherapist, tertiary educator and public health researcher with research interests including participatory methods, evidence synthesis, health service and system design, and digital health. Louisa is passionate about involving consumers and other stakeholders in health research and health service and system design to ensure that health research and services meet the need of the people and communities who use and work within them. Louisa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health at Swinburne University of Technology, and also holds honorary Senior Research Fellow positions at the Centre for Health Communication and Participation, La Trobe University, and the Burnet Institute.
