Presented by Val's LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care (part of Rainbow Health Australia), together with City of Casey Sector Support and Development, this free online workshop is designed for CHSP providers.Specialisation Verification Framework (SVF) is a key diversity reform that can assist both service providers and older people. Introduced in 2022 with the aim of helping clients from diverse communities and experiences to identify services on My Aged Care that have achieved a range of actions to understand and meet their needs. Easily achievable, it requires service providers to meet a range of criteria in order to apply for specialist verification. Services with SVF can promote themselves as specialists via My Aged Care.
This workshop will provide an overview of SVF, its benefits and importantly the practical ways service providers can achieve Specialisation Verification and meet the needs of diverse populations. The workshop will highlight one key community – lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/gender diverse, and intersex (LGBTI+) people, and share information and practical examples applicable to achieving SVF for other groups as well.
