Rushworth Rail Trail Bike Ride
About
*Please ensure you read the terms and conditions at the bottom of this page prior to registering for this event.Step into history and nature on the Rushworth Rail Trail, a scenic 11-kilometre journey departing from Rushworth Skate Park.
The day begins with a brief history of the Murchison–Rushworth railway line, first constructed in 1890 to support the booming gold and agricultural industries.
After the introduction, participants will embark on an easy 11-kilometre ride, passing through former gold mining and cropping country, alongside the picturesque Waranga Basin. Along the way, riders will encounter interpretive signs telling the story of the railway and the area’s impressive irrigation channels. Keep an eye out for wildlife—you might even spot a kangaroo or two!
The ride concludes at Harrimans Point, where a relaxed BBQ and drinks will be served. It is the perfect opportunity to unwind, share stories from the trail, and take in the stunning lakeside surroundings.
Bring your bike or walking gear, a water bottle, and sun protection, and get ready for a day that combines history, scenery, and great company.
Don’t miss this unique chance to pedal through the past and enjoy the beauty of the Rushworth countryside.
