Join us for a demonstration style workshop where you'll learn the art of making your own sauerkraut and kimchi!Fermentation is a simple and ancient method of preserving food while enhancing its flavour, longevity and nutritional benefits.
In this session, we’ll cover the basics of lacto-fermentation and its benefits for gut health, essential ingredients and techniques for making sauerkraut and kimchi.
Also lots of time for Q&A on how to troubleshoot common fermentation issues.
No experience necessary, just bring your curiosity and start your journey into lacto-fermentation or come by to pick up some extra tips/tricks.

About your host bio:
Kym Ormond is a community educator, permaculturist and trained chef who teaches skills in sustainable living from food preservation to sourdough bread baking, permaculture gardening, music and other skills he’s picked up along the way.
Kym's goal is to share forgotten skills that he's learnt over the years and return them from "Uncommon sense" to common sense life skills. Kym started off his career in commercial kitchens before eventually finding his feet in the soil and transitioned over to working on commercial farms, permaculture food growing projects and owning his own plant nursery. Kym has combined his love of growing food and cooking together into a series of sustainable living courses that are interactive, fun and informative.

This workshop is being held as part of the Unplugged at Partridge event, a digital detox event which encourages people to slow down, connect more and explore new skills. The event will also feature makers’ markets, clothes swaps, repair cafés, live music, inspiring guest speakers, and lots more!
