About
This 1:1 mindfulness session is held at Griffith Park, a gentle and accessible natural environment bordered by the Yarra River. This location is relatively flat and easy on the body, making it well suited for those who prefer minimal inclines. The surrounding greenery and flowing river create a beautiful setting for sound-based mindfulness practices, grounding, and sensory awareness.
What sessions may look like:
This offering begins with a 90-minute introductory session.
The introductory session is a gentle space for us to get to know each other, explore what’s been bringing you here, and clarify what you’d like support with. We take time to understand your goals and what you’re hoping to get out of mindfulness, at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you. There’s no pressure and nothing you need to prepare.
Ongoing sessions are then tailored to your individual goals. For example:
-If your aim is to reduce anxiety or panic, we may focus on grounding practices that support the nervous system and help you feel more settled in your body.
-If you find yourself stuck in cycles of self-criticism or pressure, we may explore self-compassion practices and ways of responding to yourself with more kindness and understanding.
-If your mind feels busy or overwhelming, we may practise noticing thoughts from a little more distance, rather than getting caught up in them.
-If you’re feeling disconnected or on autopilot, we may focus on reconnecting with the senses and the natural environment as a way to return to the present moment.
-If you’re wanting more clarity or space around decisions, we may use gentle reflection or visualisation techniques.
-If learning to slow down is a key goal, sessions may emphasise patience, rest, and allowing, rather than doing or achieving.
Sessions are not exercise-based. The main aim is to be immersed in a natural environment, using this setting as a supportive space to practise mindfulness in a gentle and grounded way.
Mindfulness practices may include:
-Noticing the visual field of nature around you
-Listening to flowing water, birds, or footsteps
-Smelling the Australian bush, earth, or nearby flowers
-Feeling your feet on the ground and the support beneath you
-Exploring mindful eating or drinking as a grounding practice
-We may also explore visualisation techniques, gentle reflection, or ways of connecting with nature that feel meaningful to you. Sessions include a mix of guided and unguided time, allowing space for both support and quiet personal experience.
There is no right or wrong way to experience a session.
It’s important to know that the goal of mindfulness is not to clear or stop your thoughts. Instead, we practise noticing thoughts as they arise, without judgement. This can be a difficult concept to grasp at first, and this is where my role is to support you. I offer a compassionate, welcoming presence to practise alongside, helping create a little space from your thoughts and respond to yourself with kindness, while gently softening cycles of negative self-talk that can be quite hard to break.
Mindfulness is a skill we build gradually over time, rather than something that’s forced or intense. Each session is about continuing to practise, helping mindfulness become more familiar and accessible. Through repetition and gentle practice, this supports neuroplasticity, allowing new patterns of awareness, patience, and self-kindness to slowly become part of everyday life.
This offering is not a replacement for therapy, but can work alongside other supports you may already have.
Sessions run for 90 minutes.
