A Bag of Rice for a Saturday Child - Natalie de Rozario
About
Celebrate the opening night of A Bag of Rice for a Saturday Child, a deeply personal solo exhibition by Burmese-Australian artist Natalie de Rozario that explores the intersections of cultural identity, ancestral memory, and the 'third space' of belonging. The exhibition will be officially opened by Dr Pilar Kasat and features an atmospheric B2B DJ set by Burmese artists Conor Kiss and Gabby Loo.
Spanning histories from the 18th century to the present, the exhibition draws on over fifty family photographs and an extraordinary collection of seventy sacred statues and household shrines to trace how stories migrate and endure across borders.
Join us at Zig Zag Gallery to experience this evocative collection of charcoal drawings, paintings, and installations that reflect on what it means to grow up 'in-between' cultures.
