Dr Eddles-Hirsch’s presentation will:
• Assist you to gain an understanding of the affective side of giftedness,
• Examine how internal traits interact with the school environment,
• Consider the school’s role in fostering or hindering talent development,
• Highlight what schools can do to build a positive social context
ABOUT DR Eddles-Hirsch: Dr Katrina Eddles-Hirsch is an academic in gifted education whose work focuses on the social context of schools and its role in the talent development process. Her research explores how schools can intentionally build positive environments that recognise and support the affective needs of gifted students. She has been recognised with the Beth Southwell Award for gifted education research and the Richard Johns Grant from Mensa, and has presented nationally and internationally, including serving as an international scholar at the University of Portland.
