National Surfing Reserve Teams Challenge 2026
About
The Teams Challenge is a tag team competition. Each team comprised Super Grommets, Juniors, Malibu (M/F), Twin Fin (M/F), over 35-short board, over 50-short board, Open Women, and Open Men.You can pre-order an event T-shirt (see image below) when you register.
If you don't have a team, contact contest director Graeme Burgan (0407 568 683) and he will help place you in a team.
** Event organisers will be at the Boardriders Club on Friday, 24 April from 5pm - 7pm if you need help registering or further information. **
Presentations on the day will take place directly after the competition, at the Boardriders Club.
COMP RULES:
Heat length 70 minutes
1st and 2nd of each heat through to the Final
3rd, 4th and 5th to Requalifying Heat. 70 minutes 1st and 2nd to Final
(every team will get 2 surfs)
4-6 team final 70 minutes
Teams must surf under 16 surfer FIRST and the Malibu SECOND and. The Malibu surfer cannot enter the water until the 8-minute mark of the heat regardless of whether their under 16 surfer has completed their wave count. All other surfers can be surfed in any order but once the team is submitted to the Contest Director they MUST surf in that order.
Each surfer may catch 2 waves with their highest wave score counted.
NOTE – surfer may decide to only catch 1 wave. A BONUS WAVE will be surfed by ANY team member after the completion of team total waves
Bonus 2 points awarded to any women surfer who surfs in a Male/Female division*.
Family Bonus of 2 points awarded for 2 or more family members (max 4 points).
