Mental Health Awareness Workshop
Mental health issues continue to be significant in our community and in recognition the Goodwood Cricket Club has been providing support to our senior playing group through the assistance of Ms Natalie Bottroff, Mental health consultant with a graduate diploma and rehabilitation counselling. 2024 data suggests there is a rise in the number of young people aged under 30 losing their lives through suicide (girls at higher risk than boys).
Recently we obtained grant funding from the City of Unley to run a workshop to raise awareness of how to recognise the behaviours of people experiencing mental health crises so that they may obtain the appropriate health practitioner support. The free workshop will occur on Monday 23 February at the Goodwood Cricket Clubrooms and is suited to young people aged 14 – 30, their parents/guardians and coaches/team managers.
