MENTAL HEALTH PROTECT - LivingWorks ASIST - Birtinya QLD
The Mental Health Literacy and Suicide Prevention Training Program has been funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Under this funding, the LivingWorks workshop will be delivered free to the veteran community, with limited places until June 2026 or earlier if booked out.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to partake in the LivingWorks workshops, you must be 18 years or older and you must be part of the veteran community in Australia, such as:
- A current serving member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) where you are accessing as a member of the community NOT as part of your ADF employment
- A veteran who is an ex-serving member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF)
- A family member of a current or ex-serving ADF member
- A friend, carer, employer, or colleague of a current or ex-serving ADF member
- An advocate or Ex-Service Organisation (ESO) representative
- A Healthcare worker supporting the veteran community who needs the knowledge and skills the course provides to support veteran community
- A community member supporting the veteran community
- Other person offering support to veteran community not covered in the above categories
Ineligible for Training
Please know that you are not eligible for the training if you are in the following categories:
- Employees of the Department of Defence (DoD) in their capacity as a DoD employee
- Employees of the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) in their capacity as a DVA employee
- Health professionals who would feasibly already have the knowledge and skills the training provides
