Upcycled bucket hat/sunhat workshop
About
Join us for a hands-on sewing workshop where you will create your own bucket hat or sunhat using upcycled and reclaimed fabrics. This workshop is perfect for beginner and intermediate sewers as the class will focus on building practical sewing skills, from cutting and construction to finishing techniques, while encouraging creativity and personal style in a supportive, relaxed environment. Give new life to beautiful materials, learn the foundations of garment construction and leave with a unique, wearable piece you made yourself. 🧵NOTE: BOOKING FOR 10 MARCH AUTOMATICALLY ENROLS YOU IN BOTH SESSIONS.
LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE
Suitable for ages 16 years + and beginners to intermediate.
Participants should feel comfortable using a sewing machine.
SESSION 1: This session is all about planning our hats. We will look at previous examples, learn techniques for adding interest and texture and find out how to get the best outcome from your fabric. We will then cut out the pattern for our hats and lining ready for sewing.
SESSION 2: In this session we will sew our hats! Megan will break down the sewing process into simple steps and guide you throughout, offering one-on-one support where needed. You will use the techniques learnt across both sessions to create a unique and professional looking result.
*You will need to bring your own sewing machine for both sessions. One sewing machine is required per participant.
Please contact the Event organiser if you have questions or wish to share a machine.
A full materials list will be provided upon booking. Some equipment and materials will be provided.
