AICD Qld Senior & Junior Classical Ballet Awards 2026

Due to limited seating at the venue, we ask that only 1 support person per entrant attend this event.
Age as at 1st July 2026
All music is to be emailed as an mp3 to qld.aicd@ballet.org.au NO LATER than 1st July 2026.
In the subject line note either 15-18, 13-14 or 11-12. Ensure your mp3 file is named as last name, first i.e., Smith, Jenny.
Copyright of sound/soundracks is the responsibility of the entrant and or participating school.
All candidates enter at their own risk.
Costuming for the awards is to be appropriate to the solo for all entrants.
No photography or filming of the event is permitted for IP copyright protection and child protective laws.

11-12 Section (Strictly capped at 25 entrants):
Registration at 8:30am
Commence: 9:00am. Finish approximately 10:30am
1st : $200, trophy, certificate & $125 Bloch gift card
2nd: $150, trophy, certificate & $100 Bloch gift card
3rd: $75, trophy, certificate & $75 Bloch gift card
Highly Commended x 1certficate
Each prize winner receives a 1yr subscription from Dancetrain magazine
Encouragement awards x 2: certificate & $50 Bloch gift card
Teachers own choreography is appropriate for this section. Variations are permitted from the list noted below & in the guidelines.
Music is to be no longer than 2:30. Please refer to the guidelines for your music.
13-14 Section (Strictly capped at 25 entrants)::
Registration:10:30am
Class: 11-12. Finish approximately 1:30pm
1st: $300, certificate, medal & $150 Bloch gift card
2nd: $200, certificate, medal & $125 Bloch gift card
3rd: $100, certificate, medal & $100 Bloch gift card
Highly Commended x 1: certificate
Each prize winner recieves a 1yr subscription from Dancetrain magazine.
Encouragement awards x 2: certificate & $50 Bloch gift card
Each entrant has a 1hr masterclass followed by their solo.
Both the class and solos are adjudicated.
Only variations are permitted from the list noted below & in the guidelines.
Music is to be no longer than 2:00 minutes. Please refer to the guidelines for your music.
15-18 Section (Strictly capped at 25 entrants):
Registration: 1:30pm
Class at: 2-3:00pm. Finish approximately 4:30
1st: $400, certificate, medal & $200 Bloch gift card
2nd: $300, certificate, medal & $150 Bloch gift card
3rd: $150, certificate, medal & $125 Bloch gift card
Highly Commended x 1: certificate
Each prize winner receives a 1yr subscription from Dancetrain magazine.
Encouragement Awards x 2: certificate & $50 Bloch gift card
Both the masterclass and solos are adjudicated.
Master class is 1hr followed by all entrants solos.
